About Paul Awad
I have been working as a director/cinematographer/editor in the film industry for over thirty years. I have worked on commercials, public service announcements, short films, feature films, and documentaries. My work has received recognition from the Telly Awards, Indie Series Awards, International Academy of Web Television, ADDY Awards, The Kodak Company, and The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
I started making book trailers when my wife, Kathryn O'Sullivan, published her first novel. Having worked as a professional commercial director, I knew how to help Kathryn choose the most cinematic elements from her book for a trailer. I have since made trailers for all the books in her Colleen McCabe mystery series (St. Martin’s Press/Minotaur Books). The trailer for “Murder on the Hoof” was named Trailer of the Week by Shelf Awareness.
In May 2022, I became a published author of the science fiction novel “When Earth Shall Be No More” (co-written with Kathryn; Secant Publishing, LLC). Again, I embarked on the process of designing a trailer for the book, only this time I had the unique experience of seeing the process from the author’s perspective. This experience gave me a new appreciation for the challenges authors face when creating a trailer.
